Friday's Favorite: Saving Energy with Lutron's Dimmers

Diva in RED

 Lutron makes dimmers in almost every shade imaginable, I would bet you have seen their advertisements somewhere, they are in almost every home décor magazine around. But did you know that their dimmers can help you save energy? One thing I love about their website is the Energy Saving Calculator this is a great tool to help anyone understand how dimming can help you save money.

Maestro Occupancy Sensor

A newer product that will also help you with your energy bill is a sensors, sensor's are great for rooms where lights are often accidentally left on, such as a child’s room, or rooms where you often enter with your hands full, such as a laundry room. This is a great way to help you save energy without a lot of effort or thought on your part; everyday the sensor does the work for you. We use senor's in the restrooms here at the store. I love having sensors in some parts of the showroom where it is not necessary to keep the light on all day, every little bit helps.

Plug-in Credenza Dimmer

Last I want to share our best selling dimmer- This is the most convenient little device. you can plug any lamp into this and have a dimmable fixture. We sale tons of these little guys! I have one attached to the lamp on my night stand, I really like having the dimmer right next to my bed.

Felt Lighting was established in 1906, 107 years ago, we are a still a family owned and operated business. I am 4th generation family member to be working at this store, I feel extremely lucky to work at a place with such a rich heritage. The first picture in this post was taken in the early 1920's and the man in the middle is my Great- Grandfather, Charles Lamont Felt. I recently stumbled upon these two old pictures and was overcome with gratitude towards my ancestors for setting up a business that has had the staying power to last in this great community and provide me with a job, one I really enjoy! I had these new pictures taken last summer by my friend, the very talented Trevor Muhler, of Trevor Muhler Photography. I love the way the showroom glows as the sun is going down in the evening.   

I am amazed at how the store has changed in the last century. We, the Felt family, owe it all to the great customers who have been willing to shop local and support us through the last 107-years. Thank you! We really appreciate your business! We hope to stick around and serve you for another 100 years, at least!

LBL Bling Chandelier

 

 

Vanity lighting has never been so elegant with more choices and more glam than ever before. The more sparkle and shine you can add to your space the better. The George Kovacs Jewel Box we can not keep in stock, it is definitely a favorite around here. My personal favorite sconce (for the moment, you can imagine it changes often) is the Charteux sconce the cascading crystals have a calming effect, makes me feel like I am in a spa, but it does not skimp on style. What do you think, will you add some glam to your bath?? I think you should!

 





Friday's Favorite: Maarid It's Finally Up!!

I have seen this plastered all over Pinterest the last few days and I am so excited that anyone can come see it in person.

I absolutely adore this kitchen- the rustic and modern elements are in perfect collision with each other creating a warm and inviting space. I would love to have a dinner party at that table!  I have been a fan of these pendants for some time now, after seeing them used in this stunning interior I knew I needed to share my top 3! The Steven and Chris Kingston light we have had on display before, it never stays up for long. Quorum recently made their own version of the island light which I am anxious to see in person. And the ELK light I think is the closest match to the one in Alexis Toureau picture and is as gorgeous as ever.
