Shades of blue are everywhere in design and lighting is no exception. 
There has been a lot of talk about the color BLUE in the media lately did you read this? Some scientist believe our ancestors didn't have a word for the color blue, that maybe the color didn't even exist until somewhat recently. What about this dress, is it blue and black or whit and gold? 

 Did you know that blue is the #1 favorite color of most people? In interior design blue can create a feeling of calm and freshness as well as strength and dependability. The key is to choose a shade that makes you feel good! I am always drawn to deep blues like navy and cobalt but they can make such a strong statement. Sometimes you need a little more calm like a sea blue or a turquoise.  Whatever you want there is a lamp for that and don't be shy there are so many shades and style available there is definitely one for every room!

Sonneman makes some really great designs, I love the Scandinavian flare from this Terluci lamp. 

Balance

 I remember my grandmother sitting next to her floor lamp with a table on it where she keeps her sewing needles and books, this however is an updated version of that floor lamp. This is hand-made to piece of art made start to finish in Vermont by very talented craftsmen. Each lamp is one of a kind!

 This crystal lamp is back-light with LED lights and is incredibly beautiful, it will most defiantly make a statement in any space.

 We will continue to see the early electric theme in lighting for 2015 and I think for years to follow. This is my current favorite, I like that it is masculine but not overly so.

 Crown Point is great quality product with a classic lamp design, where the height is adjustable. I love the drum shade which I think makes it perfect for a transitional space, and of course I choose BRASS but other finishes are available.

I am so excited about these new fixtures from WAC  all of these fixtures are LED, I am very impressed with the color and light output from each of the fixtures. The thing I like most about these new fixtures is that we now finally have some great LED options in more traditional styles, the Astoria and the Bristol collections are such classic styles, of course they come in multiple finishes: antique nickel, burnished brass, burnishes bronze, and polished nickel. These are all up in our showroom so you can see for yourself how even the light is, you see no concentrated diodes shining through the glass, and the output far exceeds my expectations. They are so new I do not have them on our website yet, but come in the store to see how they look or email me for more information.

 Here we are again, another year has begun 2015 is going to be a great one! Lighting continues to evolve with the trends and there are more and more fantastic energy efficient solutions and now more than ever before you don't have to compromise style to get energy savings with a great light source. Here are my top picks from the new product line brought to you from Murray Feiss, each year they come out with a huge product line of new and beautiful fixtures. The lighting show hasn't even started yet, so you my friends get to see theses new fixtures before almost anyone. 

All of these fixtures can come with LED light bulbs some of them only have LED options, others you can use CFL if you choose. This is one of the reasons these fixtures made my list. I have now converted every fixture and lamp in my home to LED and I am so happy I did! I love the light source and I only use dimmable LED's having control of my light levels is important to me. I save money on my Rocky Mountain Power bill each month and I feel like I am doing a small part to leave less of a negative footprint on this earth. As far as I am concerned it's a win-win!!
