Cornwall Terrace aka Billionaire's Row

All pictures from the Daily Mail
The Daily Mail ran this article on million Euro rental properties in the UK, I of course was oohing and aahing over the lighting in this particular apartment. This beauty is Cornwall Terrace, no. 11 and it's about 8,883 sq. feet and overlooks Regent's park. What they got right, and they really should for the price, is the lighting. Notice how in all the spaces you have multiple lighting sources, recessed cans with a beautiful overhead light, as well as wall sconces and table/floor lamps. In any of these rooms you have control to create so many light levels. And really each lighting fixture is a piece of art, I may be biased but I think each light should do more than just provide light, it should be something beautiful to gaze upon.

Lamps I am Loving: Floor Lamp Edition

Terluci
Sonneman makes some really great designs, I love the Scandinavian flare from this Terluci lamp.
Balance
I remember my grandmother sitting next to her floor lamp with a table on it where she keeps her sewing needles and books, this however is an updated version of that floor lamp. This is hand-made to piece of art made start to finish in Vermont by very talented craftsmen. Each lamp is one of a kind!
Crystal and Chrome
This crystal lamp is back-light with LED lights and is incredibly beautiful, it will most defiantly make a statement in any space.
Foucault
We will continue to see the early electric theme in lighting for 2015 and I think for years to follow. This is my current favorite, I like that it is masculine but not overly so.
LED Floor Lamp
This is beautiful in its simplicity, a great light source and perfect for a tight space.
Crown Point
Crown Point is great quality product with a classic lamp design, where the height is adjustable. I love the drum shade which I think makes it perfect for a transitional space, and of course I choose BRASS but other finishes are available.
Thick Thin
Now this is what I call modern sophistication, beautiful clean lines and still striking in it's design.

Lamps I am Loving

Holtkotter Floor Lamp
Artcraft Mercer Street By: Steve & Chris Floor Lamp

Artcraft Sloan Floor Lamp

George Kovacs Table Lamp

Hudson Valley Deyo Table Lamp

Murray Feiss Urban Renewal Floor Lamp

Uttermost Tomi Table Lamp

Uttermost Fabbrico Table Lamp

Uttermost Mondori Table Lamp

Placed in no particular order, I present my top picks in portable lamps. I choose these mostly for the incredible design but also for function and the material used in making the lamps. I am still loving brass accents, lamps are a great way to try out new finishes to make sure you are willing to fully commit. Even if you don't share my love for brass, many do not, there are other finishes to choose from and many gorgeous lamps here to see! Hope you enjoy!

Mad Men season 5 just started and everyone seems to be talking about it. Banana Republic did a Mad Men collection for clothing, Estee Lauder has a Mad Men makeup collection and it all seems to be flying off the shelves. Today I saw an article on how to decorate your home like the Mad Men set, so why not follow trend and give some lighting options as well?
I have noticed that in the show and in other interiors from the 50's and 60's wall sconces and portables, table and floor lamps seem to be the most prominent types of lighting.  Almost all the elements are very modern but in a few places I have seen the crystal wall sconces which are very traditional. That table in Roger's office is still as popular today as it was in the early 60's... It is funny how trends seem to cycle through every so often. I can't wait for Sunday's episode, I have been sucked into the world of depressed housewives and the aggressive men on Madison Avenue.
