Desire to Inspire featured this great bedroom and it made me think of the new Hinkley fixture we just got in the store for display. I am obsessing over the gold accents, this antique gold finish is incredible! What do you think about the mix-and-match table lamps on the dresser? I am not inclined to mix like that, the painted yellow lamp with the brass one. But it does make the room a little more interesting and eclectic. I think the overall effect is great, what do you think?

My oh my this room speaks to me, I just LOVE it! This is just what I want to see on Friday afternoon as I am wrapping up the week of work. It makes me excited for the weekend.

These chandeliers from Trans Globe are similar to the ones in the Hotel House in Istanbul shown below. I just ordered the smaller one for our showroom! I really like the modern take on such a classic chandelier.

I can't even see what the lights are in the picture above I just LOVE the ceiling, the walls and really I don't mind the floors either. WOW it's all so beautiful!!!

I am so in love with this space! Again I LOVE ceiling medallions and crystal chandeliers and the big french doors don't hurt either.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This apartment is gorgeous it's featured in the January issue of Harper's Bazaar, it belongs to the Perrin Family. I absolutely adore the crown molding and the ceiling medallion in the dining area. Not to mention the crystal chandeliers in both the photos. I wish I was ringing in the new year surrounded by such beauty.

Rosecliff Mansion

This is the Rosecliff Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island. Again such breath taking beauty, this is one of the more romantic mansion. It is popular for weddings and anniversary celebrations, notice the heart shaped stair case! The Great Gatsby was filmed here in 1970's, the book by F. Scott Fitzgerald, is one of my favorites, and I loved the movie just as much. It's impossible not to be inspired by the stunning architecture and the elaborate interiors then to top it all off the property looks out to one of the most stunning views of the water I have ever seen!

The Breakers, Newport, Rhode Island

When I was at school in Rhode Island, one of my favorite things to do on the weekend was go to Newport and walk along the cliff and look at all the beautiful mansions. One of the most famous is the the Breakers mansion, as seen above. I am always in awe of the beautifully decorated ceilings and the massive chandeliers that hang from them. I can't imagine what it would be like to live in a place like that, the music room alone is 2400 sq. feet! I could spend hours there looking at all the details and feeling inspired by it's magnificent beauty!

Ceiling Medallions are a great way to glam up a room, it demands attention and can turn a boring ceiling into a piece of art. I have always been a fan of molding, crown molding and ceiling medallions they can add so much character to a room.

Westinghouse has a good selection of ceiling medallions and Minka Lavery matches medallions to quite a few of the lighting families. My personal favorite is white on white I think it is so elegant, but there are a lot of options available.
